{"id":38,"date":"2025-10-29T16:45:39","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T16:45:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/juliakneer.com\/?page_id=38"},"modified":"2025-10-29T16:45:56","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T16:45:56","slug":"research-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/juliakneer.com\/?page_id=38","title":{"rendered":"Research Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fea7c0393c9600eb6585ea83a8fc4651 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#1339aa\"><strong>FOODMISSION&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Foodmission is a European Horizon Project in which we focus on the engagement of&nbsp;citizens as agents of change in food system transition through gamified education and citizen science.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ToRn<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Toxic Reflection: White Guilt and Perception of Diversity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Incentive Research Grant project ToRn I am focusing on the impact that white guilt has on the (non) perception of representation of diversity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b0b5dff92420fc74773cc054ed21d0b9 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#1339aa\"><strong>IRRETATE &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong>Impact, Reaction, Resilience and Empowerment of the Audiences of Toxic Entertainment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Starter Grant IRRETATE we focus on the role of toxic entertainment and the engagement of audiences, on how audiences can protect themselves against negative consequences and last but not least how audiences can move against this problematic content.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2021&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dfb52fe95aa767d450b3b170242ef59c wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#1339aa\"><strong>GoCI<\/strong>: Digital literacy games designed for digital literacy skills acquisition<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the KIEM project GoCI we focused on the role of digital games for digital literacy education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2018<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-84651f86723fda6cd7440d301e3a7fb0 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#1339aa\"><strong>&#8216;Homies&#8217;<\/strong>&nbsp;(neighborhood oriented media-based identities with empowering strategies): Empowerment of children via mobile social networking peers that function as motivators<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Surf Pop Up Homies project involved a peer-to-peer approach in which we investigated how media is used by adolescents that help integrate peers with migrant background to integrate into the Netherlands.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fdd241bef4cb5adec710cd927182fbad wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#1339aa\"><strong>Urban Media Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the project Urban Media Engagement we focused on the development of social identities within the multidiverse city of Rotterdam and how media are included and used to express and develop identity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2015<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b3ae45ef5aff7320b391cac6811014ef wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#1339aa\"><strong>The fogland game<\/strong>: creating and validating a paper prototype of a game to fight smokers&#8217; needs for relaxation and social contacts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the KIEM project fogland we developed a paper prototype that helps smokers to reduce and\/or quit smoking by\u00a0teaching coping strategies and pitfalls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2024 FOODMISSION&nbsp;
